Atlanta

An obvious choice for a top city in the state is Georgia’s capital and largest city, Atlanta. Atlanta is one of the largest cities in the southern United States and has a population right around 500,000 people. If you like living in a larger city and a metropolitan area, Atlanta is a good choice for you.

Atlanta is probably most well-known for its airport, which is the world’s busiest airport by passenger traffic. Some other fun things to check out in Atlanta include Centennial Olympic Park, SkyView Atlanta, and the World of Coca-Cola. Athens

Athens is also a college town, as it is home to the University of Georgia, and therefore has all the additional perks that come with housing a college, including great nightlife options, amazing restaurants, and many events every weekend. Athens is also known for its reasonable housing prices, which is another bonus if you would like to move to this charming city.

Decatur

Decatur is relatively close to Atlanta, and is frequently noted as being the top city to live in in Georgia. Decatur is on the smaller side, with a population of about 27,000 and is known for its community-minded atmosphere, good schools, and nightlife.

While the housing is more expensive than Athens, people are drawn to Decatur due to its vibrant atmosphere, many local restaurants, and shopping options in its downtown area. If you are looking for a smaller city that is super close to Atlanta and still has its own exciting identity, Decatur is certainly a top choice for cities in Georgia.

Georgia is a great option when it comes to a state to live in, and there are so many awesome cities to choose from within it.
